New Acland Community Reference Group Nominations Open

28 October 2015

New Hope Group is seeking applications from representatives of the local community for a new term of the New Acland Community Reference Group (CRG).

Executive General Manager Mining Jim Randell said the CRG is an important component of community interaction that New Hope is proud to facilitate.

“The CRG is of major importance to New Acland because it gives us the ability to contribute to the local community as a part of the community.

“This group also provides a conduit for community members to raise any issues they may have regarding New Acland with a CRG member,” he said.

“It is an engaging, collective atmosphere for all parties to come together and discuss community issues,” he said.

Mr Randell said the CRG also plays a significant role in the administration of the New Acland Community Investment Fund by reviewing applications and making recommendations to New Hope on appropriate community development initiatives to support.

Representatives are selected from a cross section of the community through an equitable process that aims to deliver a group that represents diverse view points and stakeholder interests from Toowoomba, Oakey, Jondaryan, Goombungee and the surrounding communities.

Local community representatives interested in joining have from Wednesday 18 October to Friday 13 November to apply.
