Applications open for community investment fund
21 August 2015
Local community organisations are invited to apply for the next round of the New Acland Community Investment Fund.
The New Acland Community Investment Fund assists not-for-profit community groups and organisations to develop long-term outcomes for communities around the New Acland Coal Mine.
Not-for-profit groups and organisations within the Toowoomba Regional Council area are eligible to apply for grants of $10,000 or more under the fund.
New Hope Executive General Manager Mining Jim Randell said applications to the fund would be assessed by the New Acland Community Reference Group (CRG).
“CRG members, who represent a broad cross section of community interests in the area surrounding the New Acland Coal Mine, will assess applications and make recommendations to the New Hope Group on appropriate community initiatives for support,” he said.
“Successful applicants in the past have included the Jondaryan Rural Fire Brigade, Quinalow State School P&C Association, Oakey State School P&C Association and Friends of McDonald Nursing Home in Oakey.”
Applications to the Fund are welcome at any time; however eligible organisations are invited to submit an application before 30 September to be considered for the next round of funding.
