New Hope seeks Jondaryan resident for Community Reference Group

14 January 2013

The New Hope Group is seeking a Jondaryan resident to join the company’s New Acland Community Reference Group (CRG).

No applications were received from the town’s residents during the initial selection process for the CRG late last year.

“The current CRG members believe it is important to have a Jondaryan resident in the group and New Hope supports this view,” New Hope’s Chief Operating Officer Bruce Denney said.

“We are therefore doing another call out for expressions of interest specifically from Jondaryan residents and look forward to having input from the town on the CRG.

“If anyone is interested they can pick up an application form at New Hope’s Oakey Community Information Centre in Campbell Street or online at www.aclandproject.com.au.

“Applicants have until January 30 to lodge an expression of interest. They will then be reviewed and a representative will be selected.”

Mr Denney said the CRG played an important role in two-way communication between the New Hope Group and the wider community.

“The group’s members come from a broad cross-section of community interests and they represent important sectors such as agriculture, education, business, infrastructure and health,” he said.

“The CRG’s role is to provide a local perspective on key topics, particularly in relation to potential impacts and opportunities presented by the New Acland operation.”

He said that while the CRG was advisory in nature, outcomes from the group would assist in informing planning and decision-making by the New Hope Group.
